Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
Running totals Suras 2 to 11. Total verses 1589. Total verses which preach violence, hatred, intolerance and supremacism towards or against the Infidel Kafirin: 366 or a mere 23%. This is only 1/3 of the entire book. Name one other document masquerading as a 'holy book' in which 23% of its content identifies non-cult members as evil, criminals, wrong-doers, greedy, stupid, doomed and ones to be crucified, executed, warred-against, humiliated or suppressed.
Sura 11 is one of the poorest reading Suras. The chapter has 3 big ideas. First all the key men of history including Noah, and all the Jewish and Christian prophets including Moses and Abraham were disciples of Allah, or Hub'Allah, the 'one Lord' of Mecca. Even pagan prophets such as 'Hud who lived in the 3rd millenium BC, were really followers of the ilah. The people of 'Ad rejected 'Hud, Allah therefore destroyed them. Such declamations would no doubt come as quite a surprise to the characters mentioned. Second, the Allah thing and dialectical force, which is the only free-will force in the universe 'destroyed' ancient communities including the Egypt of Ramses II, for not obeying and following 'his' or 'its' commands. Hud's community of the 'Ad is another clear example of Allah's wrath on those who don't follow the cult – even if the pagan people of 'Ad existed some 3.000 years before the coming of Muhammad.... Third, Infidels are going to the hell-fire, their torturous doom a surety.
The thrust of the cult demands in Sura 11 or 'Hud can be found in the following 3 verses:

(Saying) worship none but Allah. Verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am unto you from Him a warner and a bringer of glad tidings. |

|
To Allah is your return, and He is Able to do all things. |
|
|
If then they answer you not, know then that the Revelation (this Qur'an) is sent down with the Knowledge of Allah and that La ilaha illa Huwa: (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! Will you then be Muslims (those who submit to Islam)? |
A fairly simple set of cult demands. The Allah – never defined, never identified, never explained – is uber alles. You can worship 'none but Allah'. Muhammad is his one and only 'messenger' and as with past prophets is a warner as well as a mouthpiece for Allah's demands. These commandments are revealed in the Qur'an which by itself is proof enough that Allah is the one true God. Will you therefore not simply obey and submit ?
From these 3 verses it is a quick step to demonize the 'other' and the Un-Believer. 18 verses in this chapter support violence against non-cult members, and clarify that anyone who does not submit to Islam is going to hell-fire. A 'sin' within Koranic theology is the act of doubting Islam, Allah, or Muhammad. A criminal action is to disavow Koranic exegesis and the commands of Muhammad or Allah as set out in the immutable and un-created Koran. Even to privately question any aspect of what Muhammad said or did, or to query anything written in the Koran is a 'sin'. Faith, good works, 'charity', and tolerance only exist for Moslems or for anyone who promotes Islam. Infidels are excluded. The world is riven into two parts. The House of War inhabited by Infidels against whom pious Moslems must wage Jihad; and the cult of Muhammad, picked out by the Hub'Allah moon deity as those who will enjoy a joyous afterlife.

And if We delay the torment for them till a determined term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Verily, on the day it reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by (fall in) that at which they used to mock! |

They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but Fire; and vain are the deeds they did therein. And of no effect is that which they used to do. |

|
Can they (Muslims) who rely on a clear proof (the Qur'an) from their Lord, and whom a witness [Prophet Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel OaCa)] from Him follows it (can they be equal with the disbelievers); and before it, came the Book of Musa (Moses), a guidance and a mercy, they believe therein, but those of the sects (Jews, Christians and all the other non-Muslim nations) that reject it (the Qur'an), the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. So be not in doubt about it (i.e. those who denied Prophet Muhammad SAW and also denied all that which he brought from Allah, surely, they will enter Hell). Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the mankind believe not. |

And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah. Such will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord!" No doubt! the curse of Allah is on the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, oppressors, etc.). |

"That you worship none but Allah, surely, I fear for you the torment of a painful Day." |

|
Such were 'Ad (people). They rejected the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers, and followed the command of every proud obstinate (oppressor of the truth, from their leaders). |

And they were pursued by a curse in this world and (so they will be) on the Day of Resurrection. No doubt! Verily, 'Ad disbelieved in their Lord. So away with 'Ad, the people of Hud. |

|
"And O my people! This she-camel of Allah is a sign to you, leave her to feed on Allah's earth, and touch her not with evil, lest a near torment will seize you." [note anyone who disobeys 'signs' is consigned to hell-fire] |

|
And As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook the wrong-doers, so they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes, - |
|
|
So when Our Commandment came, We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, piled up; |
|
|
And when Our Commandment came, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us. And As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) seized the wrong-doers, and they lay (dead) prostrate in their homes. |
|
|
He will go ahead of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will lead them into the Fire, and evil indeed is the place to which they are led. |
|
|
They were pursued by a curse in this (deceiving life of this world) and (so they will be pursued by a curse) on the Day of Resurrection. How bad is the curse (in this world) pursued by another curse (in the Hereafter). |
|
|
Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, and severe. |
|
|
As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, sighing in a high and low tone. |
|
|
They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Verily, your Lord is the doer of what He wills. |
|
|
And verily, to each of them your Lord will repay their works in full. Surely, He is All-Aware of what they do. [note; any disobedience to the 'Lord's' will will result in torture and hellfire of course] |
|
|
And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allah, nor you would then be helped. |
I am not sure what is hard to understand about the above. It is clear – follow the cult or undergo torments in this life or the next through pain arranged and controlled by the Allah-thing. The rest of the Sura contains nothing about ethics, the Golden-Rule, free-will [only Allah has will see 11:107 for eg.], or inter-faith harmony which the Moslems and their allies proclaim exists within the Koran. It is a lie. The Koran is a cult document. Anyone who opposes the cult and who does not mindlessly follow the cult of Muhammad or Allah [both appear to be the same in the Koran], must die. It really is that simple.
