Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.

23:1 Successful indeed are the believers.....
23:90 Nay, but We have brought them the truth (Islamic Monotheism), and verily, they (disbelievers) are liars.
23:103 And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves, in Hell will they abide.
To lie is Islam is to 'sin'. To 'sin' is to be punished. To be an infidel sinner means to be tormented and reduced by the cult or Allah. My favourite verses are the two which deny that Muhammad is insane – which he most certainly was:

"He is only a man in whom is madness, so wait for him a while." Note: This is used to demonize Unbelievers, for not believing that Muhammad was a prophet is a sin in Islam. |
And

Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Qur'an (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. |
An optimist would declare that a 'holy book' which 'only' emits violence in 21 % of its verses, is not 'that bad'. Surely the other 79% are full of love, hope and change, along with rainbow coloured rose petals fluttering through dialogues of inter-faith harmony and Golden Rule propositioning? Well sadly for the multi-culturalists not really. The Koran is barren. It is called Submission to the 'Lord' or Allah for a good reason. The entire program negates free-will, humanism, individuality and intelligence. Submit, prostrate, grovel, hope that Hub'Allah or Muhammad will take mercy on you; and follow the program. No golden rule or rationality here. And if you need to kill, execute, humiliate and crucify the Infidels [Sura 5:33], rest assured that Allah [or Muhammad] sanctions and encourages such actions. It is not for you to understand Allah's power or 'plans' [a refrain repeated on every page].
The Believers chapter is a restatement of why the cult benefits only those who follow the diktats of the 'great man' Muhammad. As reviewed before:
“The Believers must (eventually) win through, - Those who humble themselves in their prayers....Again, on the Day of Judgement, you will be raised up.” [23:2] Believe and 'win' against the enemies of the Meccan moon cult and enter Heaven. Humble yourself and prostrate your humanity before an Arab idol and be successful. And if you don't ? “We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time!) So away with people who do wrong!” [23:41]. 'Wrong' for Muslims means not following Islam of course. How very tolerant.”
There are at least 28 verses of violence in Sura 23. Since the entire chapter is premised on why Moslems are superior and why they will rule and dominate the Unbelievers, one could make a good case that the entire 118 verses are in actual fact supremacist. The more lurid 28 statements of violence against non-Moslems include the story of Noah and the great flood – Infidels and Criminals who don't follow the Allah cult will be drowned:

So We inspired him (saying): "Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and the oven gushes forth water, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned. |

And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who are Zalimun (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allah, etc.). |

Verily, in this [what We did as regards drowning of the people of Nuh (Noah)], there are indeed Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc. for men to understand), for sure We are ever putting (men) to the test. |
Follow Muhammad and the Koran or else.....

But whoever seeks beyond that [meaning Sharia/Koranic law], then those are the transgressors; |

|
So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). |
|
|
Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. |
|
So leave them in their error for a time. |
|
|
Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Qur'an), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. |
|
|
Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. |
|
|
In pride (they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram), talking evil about it (the Qur'an) by night. |
|
|
And though We had mercy on them [disbelievers] and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. |
|
|
And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. |
|
|
Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. |
|
|
Nay, but We have brought them the truth (Islamic Monotheism), and verily, they (disbelievers) are liars. |
|
|
Say (O Muhammad SAW): " My Lord! If You would show me that with which they are threatened (torment), |
|
|
"My Lord! Then (save me from Your Punishment), and put me not amongst the people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing)." |
|
|
And indeed We are Able to show you (O Muhammad SAW) that with which We have threatened them. |
|
|
Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they utter. |
|
|
And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). |
|
And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. |
Eternal punishment for the Infidel Criminals:

And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves, in Hell will they abide. |

The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured). |
|
|
"Our Lord! Bring us out of this; if ever we return (to evil), then indeed we shall be Zalimun: (polytheists, oppressors, unjust, and wrong-doers, etc.)." |
|
|
He (Allah) will say: "Remain you in it with ignominy! And speak you not to Me!" |
Rather clear. Remember that the best Moslem is the most erstwhile of slaves:

Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" |
That about sums up a cult. A group of slaves chattering about pagan fascistic ideals and declaring themselves superior.
