Islam and the West – War and the dangers at home

April 2005

Islam has been actively arming and asserting itself against the West for 40 years. In fact Arab nations have been buying military goods at a faster rate than GDP growth for quite some time. Most of the military hardware is purchased from France, Germany, Russia and China of course. Yet in the Western media the current Islamic – Western struggle is still described in ‘nuanced’, ‘complicated’ ways that hide what is really going on, which is of course, a War for Civilization. This war is being fought on many fronts; military, economic, diplomatic, financial, immigration, and security concerns are all involved. Yet most in the West have no idea or deny that we are at war with a political ideology – Islam – that is antithetical to Western ideals. Islam is not a religion - it is a social construction.

David Warren in the Western Standard Magazine writing on August 30 2004 was dead on when he wrote about the 9-11 Commission report and Islam, “They [9-11 commission] have moved away from the received idea that we have a problem with a terrorist network, to the idea that we have a deep-seated, religious and ideological worldview that is sworn to the destruction of the West and uses terrorism only as an effective tool.” Correct. The current war with terror is really a war against the Jihadist elements within Islam. Not all Muslims are terrorists. Nor do all Muslims want to destroy the West. But the religion of Islam is not a religion – it is a political philosophy opposed to modernization and Western civilization – and nothing will stop the Islamicists from their stated aim of world domination. Terror is just a means to an end.

Much like with the Soviets and with Hitler’s Nazism, it is useful to understand what Islam says about the West. As with previous fascists Islam is very clear – it wants to be THE dominant world philosophy. This belief means war. Walter Williams wrote in Capitalism Magazine on June 24 2004, “Muslim atrocities and the collective Muslim response to those atrocities, might be better understood knowing their belief system as spelled…among many, passages from the Quran: ‘Fight those who do not believe in Allah” [Surat At-Taubah 9:29] etc…”. In fact the number of passages in the Quran inciting violence against non-believers is vast. Compare such language to the New Testament – where nary a word of violence exists. Compare the leadership of the violent, lying, genocidal, slave owning, warring, adulterous, child molesting [he had sex with a 9 yr old child], Mohammad with Christ. Two more different characters in history cannot be found.

Frank Gaffney Jr. President of the Center for Security Policy wrote in the National Post on December 10 2003 that, “…the West’s enemies – notably an array of Saudi princes, charities, businessmen and front organizations – have been spending some U$70 billion to recruit, train, and arm adherents around the world in the name of the central idea being wielded against us, namely jihad or holy war.” He could have added Iran and Syria, which collectively spend $1-3 billion per annum to fund terror, plus the $300 million sent to the Palestinian authority by the EU each year. This says nothing of the billions earned per annum by terrorist groups across the globe from illegal drug trading [see. Rachel Ehrenfeld’s book, ‘Financing Terror’]. This was a trick that terrorist groups apparently learnt from the wonderful democrats in the Soviet Union.

The threat from Islamic anti-Western governments is huge. US News investigative reporter David Kaplan after an exhaustive investigation found that the Saudis are running the largest world-wide propaganda program in history, dwarfing even Soviet efforts. Saudi money has poured vast sums into terrorist networks, mosque building in Europe and North America and the spread of extremist doctrine through mosques, media, text books, educational schools and charities around the world. Quite a lot of the financial capital is raised and managed in the US, Canada and EU through a complicated web of charities. Little is being done by Western nations to combat this massive capital raising and associated propaganda campaign, which soaks the mind of the young, impressionable and fanatical, with hate filled venom on Western weakness and corruption and Islamic superiority.

This picture of a combative, well-monied and ambitiously deadly Islam states the truth and reality far more clearly than what most of the Western media reports. For example The Economist on September 12 2003 wrote a poor review of Islam and the West that excuses Islam from censure. The Economist believes that Islamic politics are local; that the West does not understand Islam; that Islam in the West is not a threat but a ‘bridge’; that radical extremists have taken power in a vacuum in Muslim lands. Such ideas are routinely heard on CNN, or offered in the New York Times. They are wrong.

I would argue that there is little in Islam that is ‘moderate’. I have not heard or seen any ‘moderate’ Islamic leaders denouncing 9-11 or other acts of violence with the exception of one Mullah in Egypt and another recently in Spain. Instead most Mosques and Mullahs, in the Middle East and in the West preach the immoral inferiority of Western culture vis a vis Islam. Yet the West is aiding this anti-American, anti-civilisational campaign. It is beyond reproach, exceeding common sense and security imperatives, to import tens of thousands of Muslims each year into every country in the West. Eventually a seismic shift will occur – and the 5th column will appear. Islam can never win in a direct military conflict. But the Saudi’s and other terrorist agents will change the West from within. This indirect cultural change will be supported by terrorism and guerilla warfare here and abroad. The East has never beaten the West in a head on military exchange and the East has always favored indirect attacks to direct massive confrontations. Expect more 9-11 or Madrid styled attacks, while Islam builds up a huge political and cultural force right in your backyard.

The war on terror is not only about destroying terrorist and rogue regimes. It is about defending and enhancing our own Western society and culture – a culture and tradition that has nothing in common with Islam. Why then are our immigration and domestic security programs so immature ?
