Suffering through the Koran, Sura 66 'Holding something to be Forbidden '.

Harem politics.

by Ferdinand III

One reason why the Islamic cult was set up, was in part to satiate Mohammed's sexual desires. Islam's founder and the inventor of Allah as the supreme God, acquired 4 wives. This was standard Arab pagan practice. The first one Khadija, was rich, and this factor allowed Mohammed to engage in politics and become a wealthy man. When she died he married 3 women over time, mostly to cement military and political control over the cult. He of course also possessed sex slaves – at least 12 are referenced in the Hadiths as being present at any given point in time. Apparently managing the Harem, was a headache. Any study of Muslim court politics in any era will reveal that the Harem was usually at the centre of politics and intrigue. The Sunni-Shia split is partly based on the conflict over the division of spoils post-Mohammed's death, between female favourites and the female blood lines. In Oriental cults one can never underestimate the power of the Harem.

So when Mohammed had trouble with his women, the ever present thing Allah, came to his aid. Allah is supremely interested in Mohammed's well-being. So interested in fact, that when Allah speaks, it sounds suspiciously like Mohamme.d. So if Mohammed wants a woman, Allah will give her to him. If Mohammed wants to trade in the sex slavery of women and acquire more consorts Allah will grant that right as well, no matter how irreligious a practice it actually is. If Mohammed has trouble with his Harem, the Allah thing will reveal the necessary wisdom to give Mohammed guidance. How convenient indeed!

O Prophet! Why do you hold to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to you? You seek to please your consorts. But Allah is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [66:1]

So please Mohammed, take what the Allah gives to you including women as sex toys. If you try but can't please them all, that is not your fault. How can any great man possibly please 12 or more women ? Mohammed you are the anointed one, and you should never deny what the unknowable force Allah grants to you. He or it, is deeply, and strangely interested in your happiness. So when Mohammed had trouble with his sex slaves who were most likely pagan, Jewish or Christian, and who were somewhat sceptical about Mohammed's cult, and who most likely would have conspired against him in some fashion, Allah was right there with the right revelation and information:

When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another) and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof, and repudiated a part.” [66:3]

So Allah knows what Mohammed says to his consorts, and he also knows when trouble is generated from the Harem. He can also intervene fix the situation and to let part of what Mohammed says to pass, and part not. The Allah even tells Mohammed what the rumour was:

...Then when he told her thereof, she said, 'Who told you this?' He said, 'He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things).” [66:3]

Most likely another sex slave told Mohammed was what happening, but why not use this knowledge as a further pretence to prove a special relationship with a higher power? In any event Allah was rather angry that the Harem was playing politics. He or it, threatens to fire them all:

It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange Consorts better than you, - who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah....” [66:5]

That is the heart of the matter isn't it ? Submit your will to Mohammed and Allah as a devout sex slave of mankind's chosen 'messenger'. Don't dabble in court politics. Never spread rumours. Just make yourself available to perform your sex duties and rear children. As verse 10 goes on luridly to warn the women;

Allah sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut: they were (respectively) under two of our righteous Servants, but they were false to their (husbands) and they profited nothing before Allah on their account, but were told: 'You enter the Fire along with (others) that enter!”

Unbelievers must have existed in Mohammed's Harem. Considering that many Jewish sex slaves and pagan women were taken in battle, it must have been somewhat difficult enacting conversions. Non- Muslim sex slaves would be a prime locus of treasonous and poisonous anti-Muslim activity. No wonder Mohammed was worried about the loyalty of this group. The threat of Allah's punishment, encased in revelations of eternal punishment and hellfire would be part of the process to convince the good maidens that Islam was their only choice short of either being killed, sent away or sold into exile. The Koran is clear on every page – you must submit in an irrational, unthinking ritualization to Mohammed and his cult including useful sex slaves. Submission is the whole point of Islam.

And of course one cannot have a Sura without some good full throttled Infidel hate:

O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell, - an evil refuge indeed.” [66:9]

A similar declaration is given in verses 6 and 7. The Unbelievers and Hypocrites are non-Muslims of course. 'Strive' has nothing whatsoever to do with a mental battle, but it denotes the law of force that one finds on every Koranic page. Muslims, including their perfect man Mohammed, have a duty to fight the Unbelievers with physical violence.

Of course Allah has already determined that these non-Muslims are going to hell anyways. This is fatalism and is the opposite of the Golden Rule. It matters not, how good of a person and practitioner of real spirituality you might be. What matters is whether you are a member of Allah's cult. If you are not you shall be commended to eternal hellfire – along with devious non-Muslim Harem sex slaves who dare to conspire against the Messenger.

None of this Sura is an exercise in spirituality or 'religion' of course. It is simply a recital of court and cult dynamics.
