Sura 81 & Mohammed's madness. A psychopath as 'prophet'

Muhammad's contemporaries were quite convinced of his madness.  The entire cult of Islam and the entire history of Muhammad's military-political career make it apparent that he was indeed quite mad. What 'balanced' mind engages in murder, endless war, brigandage, 'revelations' from his family's idol, sex slavery, concubinage, and bizarre posturing and rituals?

Sura 81, or 'The Folding Up' [of reason, logic and ethics one assumes] is a defence of Muhammad's sanity. This is telling. Muhammad was long thought by his contemporaries to be insane, and

“...you will discover that the prophet's "ministry" in Mecca was filled with troubling episodes. Following his first Qur'anic revelation, Muhammad claimed to have been demon possessed. By his own admission, he tried to commit suicide. Those who knew him best, his family and neighbors, said that he had gone mad. "He is a demon-possessed sorcerer fabricating scripture," they said, accusing him of plagiarism and of having purely selfish motives. They mocked his prophetic claims, ridiculed his Qur'an, and said that his preposterous notion of turning many pagan idols into the one God was insane. As a result of this verbal abuse, all chronicled in the Qur'an, Muhammad pledged to slaughter his kin.”

Muhammad 'pledged' to wipe out the Meccans for mocking his ministry of fantasy, gibberish and confused revelatory liturgy. No miracles or supernatural events can be attributed to the mad brigand as well.  Why would anyone follow someone who knew little, yet spouted so much inanity ?

The only recourse for Muhammad was war.  When he crowned himself Prince of Mecca in 630 AD at the head of a 10.000 man army, he had waged 8 years of war and plunder from his base in Medina.  Mein Koran during these 8 years undergoes a radical transformation, from confused pleadings to follow Baal, to strident hate and demands to eviscerate non Moslems. The totalitarian nature of his poli-theocratic program is evinced in his endless quest to form slaves out of the Arabs – slaves to himself, his interests and represented by Islam or submission to his family's idol Hub'Al, or 'the one'. The Koran is from a 'god' not from Satan.....

Your only duty as a worthless human is to obey this Allah thing and follow Muhammad. Such a creed finds its expression in over 10% of the Koran, in which slavery is demanded and expected. This is typical of cults whose ethos emanate from the Bronze and early Iron age. Islam is by definition and depiction a very old cult indeed – at least in its demands and organization. It is not a religion and certainly not a cult that has any productive or moral part to play in the modern world.
