Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
There are 284 mentions of the 'moon' within Mein Koran. Given that 'Allah' or the 'Lord' is Hub'al the male moon deity of Mecca, and the most important pagan idol within the 360-idol Kabaa shrine, the saturation of Muhammad's handbook with moon references is sensible. Allah is Hub'Al of course.
The Koran does try to relegate the moon [and all celestial objects] to be a creation of this mysterious Allah thing. This occurs not at the beginning of the Muhammadan cult's ministry, but over time. The scribes who wrote down Koranic text, over time equated Allah with Jewish ideals of monotheism. These Koranic scribes were probably Jewish slaves. So at times in the Koran we see the following types of verses:
13:2 Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He Istawa (rose above) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He has subjected the sun and the moon (to continue going round)! Each running (its course) for a term appointed. He regulates all affairs, explaining the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, that you may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
16:12 And He has subjected to you the night and the day, the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected by His Command. Surely, in this are proofs for people who understand.
Allah over time mutates from Hub'Al the male moon deity to something more immanent, all-encompassing, power and unknowable. He or it commands the Meccans to give up their celestial cults.
41:37 And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.
This transformation of Allah allows the only miracle ascribed to Muhammad to occur - namely the division of the moon into 2. This apocryphal addition was added simply because non-Moslems jeered at Muhammad's illiteracy and lack of divinely inspired miracles.
54:1 The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).
There is however plenty of reason to assume that Allah is Hub'Al. Besides millennia of celestial and moon worship at Mecca, and Allah meaning 'Lord' or chief deity of the Kabaa [which was the moon deity], we have the Koran:
6:77 When he saw the moon rising up, he said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "Unless my Lord guides me, I shall surely be among the erring people."
Phases of the moon guided pagan Arab life. The moon brought relief from Allat the Sun Goddess and consort of Allah the moon deity. It would bring dew and depending on the season would herald new climactic conditions including the coming rains. The moon marked the seasons and was a protector of his chosen people.
Sura 53 reveals Allah to be the pagan moon idol of the Meccans or their 'ilah', Lord of the Kabaa shrine. Allah has nothing in common with Judeo-Christian monotheism, or associated ideas about a monotheistic deity.
53:49 Yusuf Ali: “That He is the Lord of Sirius (The Mighty Star)”
Al-lah is a celestial idol meaning the 'Lord' or the 'One'.
In Sura 53, or 'The Star' reviewed here, the Allah idol or moon deity transmogrified into a universal power, has little regard for the human race [in juxtaposition to Judeo-Christian ideals]. The human is the knave and slave of Al-Lah. Just obey his demands.
53:10-12 Yusuf Ali: “So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant – (conveyed) what he (meant) to convey. The (Muhammad's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. Will you then dispute with him concerning what he saw (the revelations)?”
Muhammad's family were the caretakers of the Hub'Al shrine. Muhammad's name is Abdullah or slave of Allah. It is thus quite convenient that the family idol of Muhammad becomes quite magically, the replacement for the Judeo-Christian monotheistic 'god'. Allah moves from Sirius, or Sin the equivalent of the Babylonian moon deity and Muhammad's family idol; to the only free-will power and force in the universe. Quite a migration.
