Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
Western leaders and Moslem-Islamic apologists conflate, mix up and confuse the following:
It is the overall cult theology which matters, not the individual
Not all individuals within a pernicious cult [Nazism, Communism, Islam] are evil, mendacious or violent. But that matters not. Back to point #1, it is the cult and its mandate that matters, not the individual.
Young people are indoctrinated against common sense, 1400 years of history, and modern experience, that Islam is somehow a 'peaceful religion'. This is appalling and ignorant. First of all, the devil is in the details. Young people need to ask:

Cults are dogmatic theologies not open to debate, inquiry, assessment, or even mocking. At their foundation they are immune to criticism, reform, and are militantly violent against disbelievers, dissidents or any oppositional centres of power. Nazism the ultimate Atheist-Evolutionist theology, wiped out the Church, subsumed the family, business and all matters of socio-political institutions and governance into the state. Communism did much the same. The church and state as one. Islam enacts the very same program. It is the Moslem Umma or Communal uber alles, which controls everything.
A true religion must liberate. It must free the poor, the sick, the female, the sinner, the mendicant from oppression and punishment by the state, by the elite, by those in power. It must ensure equality between humans in matters spiritual, corporeal and legal. It must ennoble the mind, push forward reason and imbue life with faith. There is no conflict between a real religion and the state, or with science. The greatest scientific achievements in history have been committed by Christians, Catholic and Protestant, and Deists, both confessing and confused.
The above has never pertained to Islam. Moslems are engaged in another Jihad against the West, wiping out Christianity in the process. Atheist-Evolutionist church goers likely twitter and giggle with glee at that thought, but there is nothing within Mein Koran, or Koranic liturgy which protects them from the same fate. Far from it. Unbelievers must be killed or converted. Period.

Islam is quite pagan, naturally Jihadic, barbaric, and very much a Bronze age cult. Its rites and rituals are 3000 years old. It is a gigantic failure. Whatever over-stated and limited successes Islam might have generated were due to the civilizations and peoples they conquered. They did not, and do not, emanate from the failed cult doctrines of Submission. Sharia non-Law is simply the creation of Bronze-age statutes in the modern age. How is this a program of enrichment ?
