Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
Two notable events in Western Christian history this week.
Henry More (1614–1687), an English philosopher, scientist, and theologian.
September 1 marks the anniversary of when Henry More, a notable 17th century Christian philosopher, theologian, scientist and poet, died at the age of 72.
More was known for being a prominent member of the Cambridge Platonist movement, which sought to reconcile Ancient Greek philosopher Plato’s ideas with Christianity.
In 1671, More had his magnum opus Enchiridion metaphysicum published, which argued for what he called a “Spirit of Nature” as a driving force of how the world functioned.
September 2 1192, Richard the Lionheart signs the Treaty of Jaffa (3rd Crusade ends)
English King Richard I (1157-1199), known as the Lionheart for his military prowess and physical strength, led the Third Crusade to victories at Acre and the coast of Israel, before signing a treaty with Saladin.
Jaffa was a city 40 miles from Jerusalem, the end target objective of the Third Crusade. The Crusaders were surrounded but successfully fought off the Muslim armies at Jaffa, who suffered deep losses. The Lionheart led a Christian relief force which swept away the Muslims besieging the city and the Crusaders defending it. Even with this victory, it was clear that the Christians did not have enough men to take Jerusalem, and the Muslims did not have the requisite force or ambition to dislodge the Christians from their strongholds along the coast.
xi Biden and the Communist coup in America has been a disaster. The country will likely cease to exist in its current form after a few years. A consequence of such a vapid, corrupt regime is foreign policy disasters. Leaving $100 billion in military equipment to the Muslim, Koran-inspired Taliban, after squandering 20 years and $2 trillion in costs for a war with few if any objectives, denotes an empire not only in decline, but febrile and decomposing into a shadow of former strength. After Bin Laden was killed in 2011, and thousands of Muslim Jihadis exterminated by the date of this death, it was high time to leave. Hanging on for 10 years has achieved precisely nothing, except the inevitable withdrawal, collapse, and of course the redounding persecution by Muslims of non-Muslims.
There is no Western institution from quackademia to the Fake News who will even mention the Muslim destruction of Afghani Christians. They will whine of course, that millions of Muslim Afghanis need ‘protection’ through unfettered access to formerly Christian and White states as ‘refugees’. If Muslim Afghanis are in danger, why can’t Muslim countries receive them and provide succour?
Now the Afghans who have converted to Christianity are in mortal danger. The statement continued: “The Taliban has a hit list of known Christians they are targeting to pursue and kill. The U.S. Embassy is defunct and there is no longer a safe place for believers to take refuge. All borders to neighboring countries are closed and all flights to and from have been halted, with the exception of private planes. People are fleeing into the mountains looking for asylum. They are fully reliant on God, who is the only One who can and will protect them.”
If they don’t find a place to hide, the consequences could be horrific: “The Taliban are going door-to-door taking women and children. The people must mark their house with an ‘X’ if they have a girl over 12 years old, so that the Taliban can take them. If they find a young girl and the house was not marked they will execute the entire family. If a married woman 25 years or older has been found, the Taliban promptly kill her husband, do whatever they want to her, and then sell her as a sex slave.”
Who will speak for the Christians in Muslim-Taliban controlled Afghanistan? No one, except Christian organisations will provide aid. The socialists-communists will applaud the Taliban’s destruction of Christianity. Such a policy renders them allies.
In the 19th century Islam was rightly called Muhammadanism. The cult of Muhammad is the more accurate and specific designation for the Arab totalitarian fascism, in which Sharia Bronze Age premised barbarism identifies the social contract between man and God and demands complete subservience to the Koran and its legal derivatives. There is no compatibility between such a project and religions, philosophies or state constructs, which lie outside of it.
Mohammed and his cult were and are today, profoundly Christophobic. Christianity is viewed as an oppositional power to Muhammadanism and is demonised and demeaned in Mein Koran, as being allied with Satan, based on pagan idol worship (Holy Trinity) and the deification of a prophet who was not divine. Approximately 25% of the Koran is Christopobic. Sura 2, the longest chapter is an example and the Christophobic verses are given below using the standard translation by Yusuf Ali a Moslem apologist and bigot. There are at least 50 verses in this Sura or about 25%, which are Christophobic. Some overlap, some may not be solely directed at Christians. But there are at least 50 different expressions of Christophobia in this Sura and over 60 if one was being punctilious.
Note that unbelievers, kufrs, those who rebel, transgressors, those who do not follow, reference both Jews and Christians. A Kuffar or kufr in Islam is simply someone who does not believe in ‘Al Lah’, the Lord of Mecca, conflated with God, though Al-Lah has nothing to do with the Christian ideals of God. Al-Lah or the Lord of Mecca was Baal the moon deity. This is described in this Sura. The Muhammadan God is quite different than the Christian Trinity, or Yahweh. The Jews and Christians ‘perverted’ the original word of God and have followed the wrong paths of worship. This makes them infidels.
It bears repeating that Mein Koran is a supremacist book in which both Judaism and Christianity are attacked and marginalised as insignificant, blind, immoral, wayward, demonic, ignorant, evil, adulterous, lecherous, greedy for trade and profit and full of unbelief.

When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know.
6-Christians are demonic

When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."
7-Christians are blind

Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).

10-Christians are dumb, deaf, blind

Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).
11-Christians reject the Al-Lah

Or (another similitude) is that of a rain-laden cloud from the sky: In it are zones of darkness, and thunder and lightning: They press their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunder-clap, while they are in terror of death. But Allah is ever round the rejecters of Faith!
12-Christians ignore the light

Nay, those who seek gain in evil, and are girt round by their sins,- they are companions of the Fire: Therein shall they abide (For ever).

They ask them concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
50-Do not marry Christians
Chapter 2 The Cow - Al-Baqara: Verse 221
Do not marry unbelieving women (idolators), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.
51-Fight against Christians

Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heart and knoweth all things.
52-Christians are evil
Chapter 2 The Cow - Al-Baqara: Verse 257
Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones: from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For ever).
No passages exist in this longest of Suras, advocating peace, harmony, or inter-faith cultural tolerance towards Jews or Christians. None. This Sura accepts Jesus as a prophet but that is all. It clearly rejects the Trinity, the Gospels and Christian interpretation of the Old Testament. The Sura demands that Christians worship ‘Al Lah’ and not their Trinity. They must also accept Muhammad’s pre-eminence over Christ and the superiority of the ‘revelations’ contained in the Koran, over that of the New Testament. Further, warring, attacking and killing Christians is validated since they are described as intransigent, evil, demonic, greedy, misinformed, stupid and hard-hearted against Muslims.
This Sura must be read in its proper context. That is a screed against both the Jewish and Christian theologies. Ignoring the obvious Christophobia in the Koran, is simply to be ignorant of what has propelled 1400 years of Muslim Jihad against Christian and post-Christian empires and states.
Approximately 25 % of the Muhammadan handbook called Recital (Koran) is Christophobic. About the same amount is anti-Semitic. Yet we only hear about the anti-Semitic nature of Mein Koran. The Muhammadan book of hate is also profoundly Christophobic. It is just as genocidal against Christians, as it is against the Jews and in fact, even more so, since Christianity is mocked as pagan heathenism in the Koran, a religion with 3 Gods (the Holy Trinity), a false claim of divinity (Jesus), and a long list of remonstrances against Old Testament Judaism, which provides the foundation for the Muhammadan cult documents. Muhammad viewed himself as an Old Testament prophet, not a heretical Christian leader.
Recital or Koran is as much an anti-Christian theo-philosophy as it is a manual to war and conquer non-Muslims. This is a fact lost on the Jewish controlled (or heavily influenced) ‘media’ and entertainment sectors in the West. The propaganda outlets providing ‘news’ rarely do so and are quite ignorant about ‘root causes’ of the Muslim Jihad against formerly Christian Europe or the Christian populations of the Near East and Africa. The Muhammadan’s hate for Christianity is revealed in the vitriol against the Church of Christ contained in Mein Koran. The same deliberate ignorance is also true of the ‘academic’ world, suffused with Muslim money, desirous not to offend ‘non-Whites’ and quite happy to engage in anti-White racism, with Christianity often portrayed as a ‘colonising’ philosophy of ‘racist Whites’. This is one reason why millions of American Blacks have joined the Muhammadan cult including the virulent and violent Nation of Islam. White ‘racialism’ is often equated with Christianity, though it was only White Christians who ended the Black-slave trade. One reason why Nigeria has such a thriving Anglican church, is that the White Anglicans tore down the Black slave markets, used by Blacks and Muslims, and built churches in their place.
Moslem cult doctrine does not 'accept' Christians. This is lie given to the hoi-polloi by dimwit 'experts' in the media and academia. The Koran clearly identifies Christians as evil, allied with Satan, stupid like donkeys, greedy, lazy, untrustworthy, confused, mendacious and deluded. 'Peoples of the Book' is a pejorative phrase denoting the inferior nature of Jews and Christians who had 'strayed' from the 'truth' or Sharia [path] of righteousness. The Allah-thing, or Meccan moon deity Baal or Hub’al in Arabic, had 'given' the original 'word' to the Jews and their sub-sect the Christians, who went out of their way to pervert, change, and ignore divine 'law'. It was up to the most important human ever – Muhammad – to set things right and get the human race organized. In this vein killing those who did not accept Baal’s laws is of course not only acceptable, but mandatory. Jihad is clearly identified in the Koran, in over 1600 verses, as being a 'pillar' of the cult.
The Christian-hatred is evident in every part and on every page of the Koran. The anti-Christian bile is consistent. There are certainly chapters when the hate-speech is punctuated in both villainy and quantity. Yet the thematic of not accepting Christians and of warring against them in some fashion, or at the very least, separating the 'superior' Moslem, from the Untermensch Christian, is a particular and pulsating charge in Muhammad's handbook of hate.

In Hitler's Mein Kampf about 20% was dedicated hate speech against the Jews. In Mein Koran, about 25%, or more hate speech than exists in Mein Kampf, is issued against the Infidel Christian. There is a good reason why Islam’s ‘bloody borders’ exist anywhere the cult of Muhammad had contact with Christian states. 1400 years of history, Jihad, war, and violence against Christianity is rather demonstrable proof that Muhammadanism is not peace.
There is an important section in this book, which outlines the little known story of Nicholas Bergier who was an 18th century French priest and critic of ‘The Enlightenment’. His importance is that he lays out the rational case for Catholicism, its morality, practicality, inventiveness and rationality. He carries on the work of St. Thomas Acquinas who also answered critics of the Church and its mysteries of faith, with evidence of reasonable rationality and natural applicability of Church doctrines, rituals and beliefs.
As a parish priest he wrote a best-selling book, ‘Deism Refuted’ in 1765 which destroyed the main themes of ‘Enlightened’ Deism. Freed from pastoral duties after this success he wrote full time and produced a long array of volumes defending the Church against its ‘Rationalist’ enemies including the insufferably inane Jean Jacques Rousseau.
Rousseau and the ‘Romantic Rationalists’ offered that if God existed, he can best be experienced within the purity of nature. Man must return to nature to recover God. Societal institutions which stand between man and God must therefore be dismantled including the entire hierarchy of the Church. Bergier recognised that this argument was more powerful, if however deluded, than the ‘rationalisations’ offered by Deists, or Atheists who denied the existence of created order and a creating intelligence and spirit. Bergier argued that Christianity was never a private revelation but instead a revelation of humankind through witnesses, saints and prophets. One cannot be a Christian without accepting their testimony and doctrines. This demanded an institution to codify the arguments, revelations, dogma, rites and rituals in order to understand the true nature of Christianity and God. Rituals such as baptism, the sacraments and communal masses were fundamental to exploring and comprehending God and his covenant. Without such rituals no religion long survives.
Bergier also attacked d’Holbach the foremost Atheist of the era, who attempted to show that Christianity led to barbarism, because it perverted man’s nature. Bergier destroyed this fallacy through an enormous display of facts and erudition, contending that Christianity and especially its morality, led to creativity, energy, invention and happiness. Importantly Bergier rejected the ‘planned grace’ of God, as maintained by St. Augustine and picked up by Protestants who believe in pre-destination as incorrect. Grace, said Bergier, was open to all who accepted Christ and God, and who showed through good works their faith and belief. This could include even the salvation of those who unknowingly (such as in the Americas or Orient), were outside the formal Church.
In today’s Catholic Church, a voice such as Bergier’s would be censored and shut down. He would be decried by the Vatican Curia and Pope as a ‘traditionalist’, someone who was not ‘progressive’ and who stubbornly refused ‘new facts’ and ‘science’ that the Church must adapt to. He would be thought too doctrinaire and ‘divisive’. But this is how religions end. When the beliefs, the mysteries, the saints, the immaterial, the deeply contemplative and philosophical is abandoned, so too is reason and practicality, along with purpose and truth. When a Church simply becomes another outlet for mainstream views, propaganda and globalist pablum, it will cease to exist, either imploding from its own irrelevance, or taken over by its global masters and reduced to nothing.
The current Scientism (Humanism-Communism) zeitgeist, with its non-science, fraud, ad-hominem attacks, censorship, and fascistic overtones, is a logical outgrowth of the ‘Enlightenment, where ‘reason’ or the Church of Reason, must rule. Scientism is the imposition of the ‘One’ rule, ‘One’ interpretation of ‘science’ to rule them all. Corona Fascism or Flu Fascism is simply an expression of this anti-human, anti-reason, anti-reality, program. It comports exactly with the views and religions of the Masons, the Illuminati, and the Communists (also called Humanists).
The program put forward by the Masons, the Illuminati and the Communists, is summarised quite well by Epperson. One sees it promulgated today by the ruling elite and various international fora such as the World Economic Forum, or United Nations. Its tenets as capably outlined by Epperson are:
1-Destruction of Christianity
2-Destruction of normal families, genders and relationships
3-Deconstruction of the existing nation state and all laws
4-Abolition of private property and private incomes
5-One World Government
6-One World Religion based on the Church of Reason
As Epperson writes, if the Great Reset premised on a 99.8% survival rate flu, sounds ‘Satanic’, it is quite literally, demonic. Many of the New Age movements, and older ‘Humanist’ or Communist forces, advocate the deification of Lucifer and the destruction of Christianity and its omnipotent God.
But perhaps the most insightful comment about the nature of what the New Age religion believed in, and who they worshipped as their god, was written by Mrs. Cumbey in her book entitled, THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF THE RAINBOW. She wrote that they had: "... the intent of bringing about a New World Order -- an order that writes God out of the picture and deifies Lucifer."
In ancient times Lucifer was the God of the Sun. The Christian or Jewish God is not the God of the Sun or light, but a God who denied man reason. Lucifer was the one who gave Adam and Eve the fruit of knowledge. For Masons, the Illuminati and New Agers, this means that Lucifer is the real God who helps and illumines human existence. The Christian God is thereby evil, malicious and must be annihilated.
Epperson:
Masonry's "... ceremonies, symbols, and the celebrated legend of Hiram in the Master Mason's degree, were directly borrowed from the 'Ancient Mysteries,' or the secret worship of Baal, Osiris or Tammuz." Albert Pike (prolific Masonic Order member and writer part of the inner circle of the 33rd right) then detailed where the mysteries went after their beginnings in Egypt. He wrote this in MORALS AND DOGMA: "From Egypt, the Mysteries went to Phoenicia, and were celebrated at Tyre. Osiris changed his name, and became Adoni or Dionusos, still the representative of the sun. In Greece and Sicily, Osiris took the name of Bacchus..."
In the Mason religion, Hiram the great builder of the Temple of Solomon was murdered by 3 men. These men represent the Jewish religion, the State and its Laws. Hiram was the emblem of reason and rationality. The Masons believe in destroying Christianity, the State and existing Legal codes. They are violently anti-Christian, and believe that when the Church falls, all else will begin to collapse as well. In this vein, they share similar goals with the Humanists (Atheists) and Communists (Atheists). The Masons like the Humanists or Communists profess the Church of Reason (similar to what generated the French Revolution and Napoleon). There is precious little reason in their belief systems, nor do they even define ‘reason’ or what it means, or how it can be recognised. Further, they believe like the Communists, that natural man, in a natural state is a good being, and that by destroying the Christian-based order of State power and laws, man can be returned to a happy natural state, owning nothing, being part of a collective and ruled by those using ‘reason’. Christianity teaches the fall and natural sin. Masons, Communists and Humanists preach the opposite. It is thus the Church which must be destroyed, and this will solve society’s problems.
Today the Catholic Church’s Pope is a Communist-Humanist from Argentina, a Jesuit, Bergoglio. He appeared out of nowhere to become Pope, much the same way that Hussein Obama became a Senator and US President, and Rothschild investment banker Macron, became the French President. True Catholic Pope’s long understood the power and evil intent of the Masons.
Epperson:
Pope Leo XIII, the Catholic Pope from 1878 to 1903. He wrote these words in an encyclical entitled HUMANUS GENUS: "Their ultimate purpose: namely, the overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism." …(the) Pope states that the Masons share the vision of Karl Marx, the Communist, who wanted to "abolish private property." The Pope said that the Masons wanted to destroy "the distinctions of property."
Winston Churchill was aware of the Free Masons, the Illuminati and the Communist links, common theories and philosophies, and that powerful agents working for these organisations were trying to destroy Western Civilisation.
Epperson:
He wrote about what he had discovered when he made his views public in a London newspaper in 1920. These are those thoughts: "From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, to those of Trotsky, Bela Kun, Rosa Luxembourg, and Emma Goldman, this worldwide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence [defined as being done with malice; spiteful] and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played a recognizable role in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the nineteenth century, and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire."
Spartacus was the code name that Adam Weishaupt, the founder of the Illuminati (1776), used inside that organization; Karl Marx was, of course, the so-called "father of communism;"
If we look at current events we see the imposition of the Mason-Humanist/Communist program. One of the key tactics used by governments has been to terrify the population with unlimited propaganda. To achieve ‘herd immunity’ to reason, every government hired behavioural psychologists to bomb the public with threats, suggestions, demands and totalitarian diktats, none based on science, but on fear and hate. It worked.
One of the great but influential frauds in the 20th century, was Behavioural Psychologist BF Skinner. Like John Dewey who was voted the most important 'thinker' in US Education in the 20th century, Skinner was a Communist (Humanist, Rationalist). Both believed that freedom must die. Both themes are obvious within the Rona Fascism narrative.
BF Skinner: "We can no longer afford freedom, and so it must be replaced with control over man, his conduct and his culture."
SAGE or the Scientific Advisory Group in the UK which runs the country under the Corona Emergency Legislation, is suffused with BF Skinners, Communists, Socialists and Humanists. This is no accident. It hearkens back to the prediction made by another Humanist (Communist) JS Huxley, a slavish cult member of the Evolution religion, who predicted that during the 21rst century mankind would be managed and ruled by a global set of ‘controllers’. The World Economic Forum today agrees, calling for a Great Reset, the abolition of private property, private income, the reconstruction of society, gender, laws and norms and the deconstruction of all Churches.
There may or may not be a ‘coordinated’ attempt to overthrow Western Civilisation using the Corona virus as an excuse. The facts are pretty obvious, however. The plans of the Masons, the Illuminati and the Communists are being implemented. It is likely more than just a coincidence that these current implementations, demands, non-science, totalitarian controls, all comport themselves with the New World Order theories and concepts promulgated for centuries by these three groups who have dedicated themselves to the destruction of civilisation.
The Dark Ages of course never existed. Except in the fetid minds of Christian-haters and those opposed to the Church. Voltaire, Gibbon et al never created, built, or manufactured a single item. Yet they are declared by their cult members as the intelligent Uber mensch, bringing classical thought and light, back to a world rotted with the sick decayed corpus of a corrupt Church....the opposite is true of course.
Fat men in periwigs, strutting around in their diffident ignorance offered very little of value to the world, even in their domain of metaphysics.
Science did not suddenly 'evolve' by magic random chance in the 17th century. Newton and other Christians, both Catholic and Protestant, did not spring out of the dirty, muddy ground and pronounce rootless, detached theorems ad novo. 2000 or more years of patient discovery, including the foundations of modern math and science long pre-date Newton, the Galileo myth, or the Atheist legends that only the godless discover 'truth'. The cult of the Vaccine, Corona, Globaloneywarming and the fraud of Evolution are the results of ‘Scientism’ or the worship of ‘Science’, not premised on reality, common-sense, or proof, but on philosophy, models and anti-humanism.
The Enlightenment, an English perversion of a word which once had meaning, was an endless Protestant attack on the Church. It was not elevated, scientific or rational in many ways. This era resurrected abiogenesis, witch burnings, and historical revisionism. Men who wore eyeglasses, which was a 13thc. innovation, could find no value in what preceded them. Blindness finds many forms. In the name of the 'Enlightenment' thousands of properties across Europe were torn down, treasures looted, stolen and defaced; priceless artifacts cut down; thousands killed and in the name of politics and hunger for money, sundry wars created.
The unenlightened Enlightenment gave us the following:
1-The free-will denying theologies of Luther and Calvin. No free will, no freedom, no markets, no civilization.
2-The promotion of predestination, meaning that nothing you do in this life matters. This moral rot has seeped deep into the foundations of civilization.
3-Rousseau, counter-rationalism, naturalism and the myth of the noble savage. This pagan theology that 'nature' in and of itself is superior, and that man is not the master but the slave of nature, is such childish nonsense and philosophical poison.
4-Anti-science theologies ranging from the Cult of Corona to Evolution and abiogenesis, to 'long ages of the earth', extra-terrestrial life forms and a resurgence in astrology and magic.
5-Phlogiston was declared to be the base element of the cell. It was disproven in 1774 by Lavoisier, but zealously promoted by 'scientists' during the 18th century.
6-In the 19th century, Darwin, who never performed a single experiment to support algae to human evolution; accepted, along with most 'scientists'; that the single cell was a simple globule akin to jelly.
7-The Enlightenment tore apart Europe and granted us the French Revolution and Napoleon, one of the greatest butchers and worst autocrats in history, whose bloody career killed millions, destroyed wealth and property and held back European development by at least 2 generations. The state was uber alles. The wise dictator an Enlightenment hero. See Fredrick the 'Great'.
8-Marxism, Darwinism, Socialism, Communism, Nazism, and theological philosophies supporting the same including Hitler, Lenin, Heidigger and the Frankfurt post-modern schools of the 1930s and 40s [cultural Marxism which is so rampant today]. All of these 'dialectical' theologies are irrational and immoral but were sold based on their 'science'.
9-Atheism, a theology of the unscientific and immoral which in the guise of Nazism and Communism murdered 150 million people. Atheism is the defining religion of the Rona cult, and modern Statism.
10-Flat earth societies which never existed in the Middle Ages [no one from the time of Christ thought that the earth was flat]; appear in the 19th century all over the developing world. 'Science' was used to prove [via sight lines usually along 'flat' bodies of water]; that the earth's curvature was a fiction.
11-Historical rewriting and ignorance. Voltaire and friends could not explain the engineering masterpieces named 'Gothic Cathedrals' for example, nor did they know much if anything about what predated them.
Of course, in today's perverted, distorted world if you criticize the Un-Enlightenment era, you are 'anti-rational'. As usual with these people the opposite of what they state is the truth. Yes, one can highlight achievements – sundry and many – during the era 1650 to 1850. But they have precious little to do with 'Enlightenment thought', and more to do with individuals creating, innovating and getting on with life. One can say with historical veracity, that the achievements from 1650 to 1850 were smaller in comparison to what preceded that era; and were accomplished in spite of notable declines in culture and reason, through wide areas of society including medicine, science and philosophy.
