Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.

In the post modern cult of historical revisionism and inaccuracy, female sex slavery is now 'freedom'. Wearing bed-sheets which hide your personality and shape is 'liberating'. Females who are submitted to the man and treated in Koranic theology as beings worth half that of a man, enjoy 'equality and rights'. Sex slavery condoned in the Koran and still practiced in Islam, is now a 'cultural difference', akin to the daughter slaughter of innocent Moslem girls – itself written off by really clever people as a mere expression of domestic violence.
This Sura simply confirms the sexual license and obsession of Muhammad:
“Islam's founder and the inventor of Allah as the supreme God, acquired 4 wives. This was standard Arab pagan practice. The first one Khadija, was rich, and this factor allowed Mohammed to engage in politics and become a wealthy man. When she died he married 3 women over time, mostly to cement military and political control over the cult. He of course also possessed sex slaves – at least 12 are referenced in the Hadiths as being present at any given point in time. Apparently managing the Harem, was a headache. Any study of Muslim court politics in any era will reveal that the Harem was usually at the centre of politics and intrigue. The Sunni-Shia split is partly based on the conflict over the division of spoils post-Mohammed's death, between female favourites and the female blood lines. In Oriental cults one can never underestimate the power of the Harem.
So when Mohammed had trouble with his women, the ever present thing Allah, came to his aid. Allah is supremely interested in Mohammed's well-being. So interested in fact, that when Allah speaks, it sounds suspiciously like Mohammed. So if Mohammed wants a woman, Allah will give her to him. If Mohammed wants to trade in the sex slavery of women and acquire more consorts Allah will grant that right as well, no matter how irreligious a practice it actually is. If Mohammed has trouble with his Harem, the Allah thing will reveal the necessary wisdom to give Mohammed guidance. How convenient indeed!
“O Prophet! Why do you hold to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to you? You seek to please your consorts. But Allah is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [66:1]
So please Mohammed, take what the Allah gives to you including women as sex toys. If you try but can't please them all, that is not your fault. How can any great man possibly please 12 or more women ?”
Islam is in part of course a sex cult. Sex cults are not usually associated with religious observances. Further, this Sura has the usual rants against Unbelievers. The main import of the Koran, and its key message is that any who do not follow the Al-Lah deity, or Muhammad [both sound the same in the Koran]; will face 'torment' and certain 'hellfire'. How religious. How tolerant.
In this Sura of 12 verses only 5 preach hate speech against non-Moslems. The hate speech verses are:

O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. |

(It will be said in the Hereafter) O you who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Make no excuses this Day! You are being requited only for what you used to do. |

O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, andadmit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirat (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things." |

O Prophet (Muhammad SAW)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination. |

Allah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve, the wife of Nuh (Noah) and the wife of Lout (Lot). They were under two of our righteous slaves, but they both betrayed their (husbands by rejecting their doctrine) so they [Nuh (Noah) and Lout (Lot)] benefited them (their respective wives) not, against Allah, and it was said: "Enter the Fire along with those who enter!" |
Muhammad and all good Moslems who simply obey Allah [66:6] must 'strive hard against the disbelievers and be severe against them.' The disbeliever's abode is hell, their examples the disbelieving wives of Noah and Lot. They will provide the fuel for Hell and certainly slip on Hell's slippery bridge into the Fire on the Day of Judgement. How comforting, and how loving.
It is impossible to reconcile the 2 themes of this Sura with what constitutes a religion. First, Muhammad is to gratify his sexual lusts with 'gifts' of women from his alter-ego, the Al-Lah thing. Second, Muhammad commands himself and his followers to fight the Unbelievers, warning that those who do not follow his moon deity cult are doomed to be the fuel of hell-fire. Neither theme expresses anything other than grotesque intolerance and the opposite of what might be termed religious observance.
