Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.

Eleven out of 30 verses in this Sura openly preach violence and intolerance to Unbelievers; 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20-23, 26, 29. The 'Adoration' means the human obligation to venerate and adore the Koran and its creator or facilitator Muhammad:

Or say they: "He (Muhammad SAW) has fabricated it?" Nay, it is the truth from your Lord, that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you (O Muhammad SAW), in order that they may be guided. |
Muhammad making up the Koran ? Silly silly. Of course not. The Koran in 'uncreated' given to Muhammad by 'the one' or 'Allah', itself in pre-Islamic times the Meccan male moon deity Hub'Al. Muhammad is always joined to Allah making it apparent that they are one and the same. Thus verse 3 above is an admonition to any who might ridicule the mental faculties of Muhammad or his sanity. Surely the Koran comes from Allah, because the inventor of Allah namely Muhammad, said so......
As already addressed here, this Sura has nothing in common with Western philosophical-theological ideals, nor does it present an ethical-religious framework or program. This is after all the Koran – Muhammad's cult document:
“The
first sentence of the Sura sums up the intolerant disposition of the
Koran's thematic assault on reason, “(This is) the revelation of
the Book in which there is no doubt, - from the Lord of the Worlds.”
[32:2] No doubt. Don't question it. The Koran is the repository of
'God's' will. Don't enquire or seek understanding. Shut up, submit,
obey and 'adore' the greatness of the unknowable moon deity,
al-ilah.
It
is a signal failure of Islamic and Arab culture that the emphasis in
the Koran and in the culture at large is not based on life, but on
death. Obey Allah and you might find yourself in a post-life
paradise. If you don't obey and adore this Allah – the male Meccan
moon deity – than hellfire is assured. Part
of the program to attain eternal life is to adore Allah,
to elevate the moon deity above everything else including yourself,
your family, your work, your community and the development of your
world.
“Only those believe in Our Signs, who, when they are recited to them, fall down in adoration, and celebrate the praises of their Lord, nor are they (ever) puffed up with pride.” [32: 15]
Notice the poorly written sentence – which inserts the 'who' into the wrong position, making the reading of the phrase difficult. The human chroniclers of the Koran were hardly Shakespearean. But the intent is clear. Humility in the Koran is not the same as Judeo-Christian humility and penitence. In J-C culture humility is a human act, consecrated in the real world, as part of a well-functioning personality, set in a culture that tries to downplay the narcissism of the ego, and elevate such concepts as charity, tolerance, and empathy.”
The Koran as a cult document uber alles cannot be more different than J-C liturgy, in its fragmented and sectioned array. The Muhammadan cult has a far simpler aim then the many brains who merged philosophy with Christian dogma. Unbelievers are inferior, and Moslems must rule and be granted an afterlife. The supremacism in the Koran is clear and obvious as verse 18 informs us:

Is then he who is a believer like him who is Fasiq (disbeliever and disobedient to Allah)? Not equal are they. |
No indeed. Not equal is the Unbeliever criminal-fasiqun to the saintly and benign follower of Muhammad. The fruits of being an Infidel criminal? Not charity or tolerance but hellfire:

Then taste you (the torment of the Fire) because of your forgetting the Meeting of this Day of yours, (and) surely! We too will forget you, so taste you the abiding torment for what you used to do. |
And

And as for those who are Fasiqun (disbelievers and disobedient to Allah), their abode will be the Fire, every time they wish to get away therefrom, they will be put back thereto, and it will be said to them: "Taste you the torment of the Fire which you used to deny." |
The Koran speaks for itself. This Sura does not hold up to scrutiny, nor does any chapter in Muhammad's text book. Pity that the huge brains which run the Western world are uninterested in investigating the Koran with the same thorough condescension they display towards the Torah or the New Testament.
