Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
Suffering through the Koran - Sura 15 named 'The Rocky Tract'.

Like most of the Koran this Sura or chapter has one purpose – to impress upon the reader that submitting to Islam is his only choice in life. The 'Rocky Tract' itself is only introduced near the end of the Sura in verse 80. It references Jews of the Rocky Tract who rejected Allah's 'messengers' including the mad politician Mohammed. They carved their homes from the rocky edifice – or so says the Koran – but the mighty Allah would not let them escape his punishment. Jews, Arabs, rock formations and homes alike were blown to pieces according to this verse, because the infidels living in the mountains, near Mecca most likely, had rejected the moon cult deity ali-ilah. Death was their reward. And that is the most reasonable and tolerant portion of this Sura.
Verse 4 leads off this absurd piece of writing by reminding the reader that Muslims, “..never destroyed a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.” Verse 5 helpfully elucidates, “Neither can a people anticipate its Term, nor delay it.” So Allah, the magnificent moon deity, will pre-determine the fate of whole tribes and races. If he does not like you and has ascribed the end of your existence and that of your tribe or race, well, that is final. You will be killed. And nothing – not even good works, faith, unremitting subservience to the mighty Allah can stay his decision. Pre-destination, not free-will. This is the hallmark of an anti-humanist, anti-reality program.
Even more insane is the Koran's constant injunctions of 'We'. Apparently all of history is controlled, managed and formed by this 'We'. Muslims were everywhere, doing everything, even before the moon cult deity apparently existed, or before the brigand-fascist Mohammed appeared. Verse 10 tells the reader: “We sent Messengers before you amongst the religious sects of old:” and verse 16 maintains, “It is We Who have set out the Zodiacal Signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders.”
'We' or Islam created creation. 'We' is the Muslim divine power one assumes. 'We' must reference the Muslim Umma or community inspired by the supernatural wonders of the mysterious, and never defined Allah. No wonder Muslims are full of arrogance and strident claims to universal domination. 'They' invented the universe.
Just to make sure the unsuspecting reader gets this message, the 'We' is oft-repeated and the claims to owning all of history and the creation of the universe are constantly refrained. Verse 23 as one simple example states, “And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain Inheritors (after all else passes away).” 'We' Muslims do it all – and by the way, just accept that statement and don't bother challenging it.
Islam's deterministic fatalism is pretty clear and one of the salient features of its pagan intolerance. Muslims made everything and Muslims and Allah will be around long after you or anything else is dead. Ergo, you might as well accept the inevitable and join our team. Be on the winning side as it were. Great logic – which is repeated ad nauseum in reductio, until the reader's eyes are glazing over and you are falling out of your chair at the repetitive boredom of it all.
Verse 85 picks up the same theme, - how surprising: “We did not create the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.....[87] And We have bestowed upon you the Seven Oft-repeated (Verses) and the Grand Qu'ran.”
So if Muslims are bad, well that is okay, they are humans. But actually they are better than other humans because they believe in the 'We'. When the hour of damnation comes [and it will come soon] you will see the power of the 'We'. So be a good little boy or girl and repeat the Koran, and hold it dear as a present from the 'We' – or so the above verse intones.
This Sura is impossible to read without laughing out loud at the utter frivolity and irrationality of the verses and themes. Who would write such nonsense ? Worse – why would anyone believe it ? The Sura is obviously a poor and rather illiterate Arab attempt to supersede or negate, the works of the Jews and Christians. And it is an utter failure.
The Arabs did not bother trying to compete with the other 2 monotheisms, through a better ethical program or some insightful, inner-consciousness, or spiritual innovation. No, they simply said we are better and if you don't believe us we will kill you – even if you try to hide in a Rocky Tract. All in the name of our moon deity Allah and because 'We' created and now manage the universe and can do as we please.
Simply psychotic.
