Western Civilisation

Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was  superior to anything Islam had developed.  Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam.  Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions.  Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'.  Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.

Suffering through the Koran – Sura 10 named 'Jonah'

A chapter named after a Jewish prophet – with absolutely nothing about the story of Jonah in the chapter. How very logical.

by Ferdinand III

After 125 pages of repetitive drool – hate Jews, kill and convert the unbelievers, obey Allah, follow the Messenger, the 'Peoples of the Book' venerate false idols....we come to an illogically placed Sura named 'Jonah' or Yumus in Arabic. There is no reason for this chapter. There is no major theme – other than the usual screaming about Jews being inferior – and most of the chapter makes little sense when you try to read it. But wait! This book is of course 'holy'. So the one-world multi-culturalists and Muslims insist. Sura 10 only reinforces the illogical and quite mad nature which suffuses this entire un-holy book.

Why is a chapter named Jonah – when there is no mention of the man or his allegorical story? Jonah was a Jewish prophet who was of course swallowed by a whale for disobeying God's command to enter the Sumerian empire and convert the Gentiles. Doing so would have ensured his death since the polytheistic Sun worshiping Sumerians would have most likely, simply killed a monotheistic preacher.

In order to escape God's voice and apparently his ever-present eye, Jonah disembarked on a ship. God ordered up a storm, a capsizing and a large whale to eat Jonah. After praying to God for deliverance and mercy within the beast's body, Jonah was exhaled and allowed to live. The moral was simple – follow God in all matters and there is no place, not even in a whale's stomach, where one can avoid God.

Eventually Jonah does make his way to Nineveh and convert the city to monotheism – or so the Old Testament says. His story is thus a metaphor for Israel's. Like Jonah, Israel was chosen by God. Like Jonah, Israel rebelled and rejected God. Like Jonah, Israel received discipline and God's wrath. And like Jonah Israel can only be delivered by recognising that true salvation comes from the Lord.

Jonah is unmistakeably Hebrew. So why would Arabic writers appropriate Jonah ? The intention was to convince the Jews of Arabia that God is Allah, and Allah is the Jewish Lord. Jonah is one of the few prophets who went forth to convert gentiles. For the Arabs the expansion of Allah's rule was a divine necessity. Jonah and other Jewish prophets were in fact not Jews – they were simply Messengers of Allah and Mohammed was the latest and last in this line.

Any thinking Jew would be baffled by this Arab sleight of hand and mendacity. Even worse this Sura never mentions Jonah. It mentions passages from the Jewish bible; Moses, Ramses the Great, but not Jonah. Jonah's story and his long travail in avoiding God's command to journey to Sumeria and convert the polytheists is not recounted. Neither is God's deliverance and Jonah's acceptance of God's total power over fate, man and nature.

It is simply madness to take a Jewish prophet's experience – or what is written in the Old Testament – ignore the details but appropriate the personages and then declare that Jonah and all other prophet's including Moses, were messengers of Allah and thus by extension, Arab theology. This claim is made repeatedly throughout the Koran and is the central tenet of this badly written chapter:

103. In the end We deliver Our Messengers and those who believe: thus is it fitting on Our part that We should deliver those who believe!

'We' would mean Allah and Muslims of course. Notice the insanity. Hebrews who developed a monotheism circa 1400 B.C. under the leadership of Moses and the influences of Canaanites and Edamites, had various leaders throughout their history who supported and developed the theology and the power of the one-God idea. Yet these Hebrews, [who were Canaanite slaves as some suggest], and their leaders including Magi and 'Prophets', were actually doing the work of the Koran's mysterious Allah. Muslims adopted monotheism long after Jews and their sub-sect the Christians. Yet somehow Allah pre-dates the other 2 main monotheism's and Jewish prophets were really spreading an Arab ideology, premised around an Arabic Koran ?

93. We settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful dwelling-place, and provided for them sustenance of the best: it was after knowledge been granted to them, that they fell into schisms.

So it was Allah and not the Jewish God who granted Israel and the Hebrews deliverance from their various enemies.

49. To every People is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance...

Ah, now we get it. The Jews had their time. That time is over. Now it is the time of the Muslims.

47. To every people (was sent) a Messenger: when their Messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice and they will not be wronged.

A terribly written sentence which is normal in the Koran. This probably means that the Arab Allah sends to each group or tribe or race a Messenger who will instill in them the words of the mighty Divine being and who will arbitrate their various disputes – much like what happened with the Jews and their struggles to stay unified. Prophets such as Elijah, Jeremiah and David were essential to maintain Jewish integrity and power. The Koran simply makes these Jews into agents of Allah. How very convenient.

And lest the unbeliever forget, only Allah can make the 'holy' Koran:

37. This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book – wherein there is no doubt – from the Lord of the Worlds.

So the great and all-powerful Allah is a book writer. His words are the laws of the World. The Qur'an with all its nonsense, hate, supremacism, racism, plagiarism and obsession with the Jew is a God-manufactured product. The illogic of the book is to be ignored since the Lord of the World wrote it. You, the slave, the knave, the knee-bender to Arab theology and psychopathy, should simply obey.

A holy book ? Holy if you hate humans, the individual, free will and tolerance. Holy if you really believe that Jonah and other Jewish leaders and visionaries were actually in the employ of an Arab inspired Allah, spreading an Arabic inspired Qur'an, and converting the world to Islam. Holy or mad ?
