Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.

There is nothing in the Koran which is edifying, 'new', metaphysical or remotely spiritual. Some rather obtuse verses descrying infanticide and treating Moslem women badly, whilst at the same time pronouncing that Moslem men should manage and beat their females including their sex slaves; and that Moslem children should disobey their parents if they are insufficiently Moslem, is hardly a cause of ejaculated joy and epiphany. In short the Koran is a bronze-age inspired and mired codex of primitive stricture. There is no spiritual-metaphysical structure upon the ruins of Hammurabi.
The shorter verses mean little and read poorly. They are of course, corrupted poems from the Kabaa shrine, in which the ilah was Lord Hub'Al the male moon deity of Mecca. Big brains in the West conflate Hub'Al with the Christian ideal of god. Islam hates Christianity so this conflation is not only absurd but sickly ironic. Christians are Trinity worshipping polytheists and entirely open for Jihad, humiliation, torture and any matter of abnegation and hatred.
Islam is slavery. As simple as that.
96:10 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays?
If the human slave refuses to worship the Allah-Muhammad idol nexus?
96:6 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.).
96:13 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Qur'an), and turns away?
96:15 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock,
96:16 A lying, sinful forelock!
96:17 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers) [saints, Christ etc.]
96:18 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)!
96:19 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah!
Fall down lowly Christian, be a slave, recant, replace Jesus with Muhammad, mutter to Allah the moon deity or whatever it is, and all will be fine.
97:5 Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.
But as the Koran so often states, those criminal, greedy Christians are corrupted and obstinate. They don't fall down like good slaves and moan to the Allah-thing.
98:01 Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and among Al-Mushrikun, were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence.
98:4 And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever was revealed to him).
98:5 And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion.
Christians have no interest in the fascistic-slavery of Muhammad. Hence their 'denial'.
For Moslems it must be to hell with the perverted Trinitarian-lovers, the 'worst of creatures'; 98:6 Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.
Western big brains have not read 98:6 one assumes.
The Moslem Jihad and host will smite the Unbeliever [100:01-10] and on the Last Day, the evil-doers who denied mad Muhammad, will receive their 'just' reward for their evil ways:
99:08 And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.
100:11 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds).
Christians are demonized by the Koran. They are criminals, greedy, equated to ants, targeted for destruction and pre-ordained to torture in hell. This denotes a cult document, not a theology of faith.
