Until the advent of materialism and 19th c. dogma, Western Civilisation was superior to anything Islam had developed. Islam has not aided in the development of the modern world; in fact civilisation has only been created in spite of Islam. Proof of this resides in the 'modern' world and the unending political-economic and spiritual poverty of Muslim states and regions. Squatting on richer civilisations is not 'progress'. Islam is pagan, totalitarian, and irrational.
The main impetus of the Koran is of course to neuter the individual, and subsume the person into the communal. We know this since most of the text is dedicated to violence against Infidels, supremacist theological dialecticism, and slavery. Muhammad's Mein Koran rivals that of Hitler's handbook in vapidity, hate, and unbridled pagan fascism.
In Sura 46, or 'Winding Tracts', 14 verses out of 35 preach violence against the Infidel or impious cult member of Muhammad. This is normal for the Koran. The violence of a cult is usually married to slavery. A good cult member is obedient, pliant to the demands of the cult, irrationally follows the cult, and surrenders his free-will to the theology of the cult and its leadership. A cult is not a religion.
On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): "You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel and disobey (Allah).
Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, etc.)!
How tolerant. Criminals are simply anyone who does not follow the Koran and Muhammad's totalitarian program. Such a culture of mindlessness must inform the actions and attitudes of its adherents. The only path to salvation is to follow the ilah or 'the one', the Al-Lah idol of Mecca, which was during Muhammad's time, the moon deity Hub'Al.
046:013 URL Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is (only) Allah," and thereafter Istaqamu (i.e. stood firm and straight on the Islamic Faith of Monotheism by abstaining from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allah has forbidden and by performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained), on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
046:014 URL Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever), a reward for what they used to do.
Good deeds within Islam simply mean anything which strengthens the cult. The Infidel as 46:20 and 25 make clear, are to be destroyed. Moslems on the other hand should treat each other well. Give a centralized tax called the zakat, which is redistributed to help the Moslem poor [Infidels need not apply]. Be good to Moslems and aid them. Free your slaves if they are Moslem so they can procreate and expand the cult. Ensure that your family members are sufficiently Moslem and effectively pious enough.
There is no golden rule within Islam, and no Matthew 7:12. This is obvious if one considers that over 10% of the Koran discusses slavery. Women are the slaves of men. Infidels are the slaves of Moslems. And all Moslems are the mere slaves of the Al-Lah thing, which is the only force in the universe possessing free-will. Any Moslem who states that the Koran preaches either free-will or the golden rule is a liar. A cult of violence and slavery dedicates itself to the opposite ideals.
